  • smaller mini amp?

Any recomendations on a smaller portable amp? I would like to have something portable, but that still puts out some noise. Is 5 watts enough?

You took too much, man. Too much. Too much.

I have a Smokey, and it's nice, but what really rocks is playing my Roland microcube on batteries somewhere. People are usually pretty amazed at the sound coming out of it. =)

The smokey amps is crazy! I have never seen anything like that, I'm gonna have to get me one. Is the Roland microtube anything like the VOX DA5?

What about something with backing tracks like the Fender GDEC? Don't quote me on these model #'s! I wonder if you get the same quality or sound out of say the Roland compared to the Fender GDEC?

Affordable, sounds kickass, and you can take it anywhere.

Champs will always be cool, you can't beat a 12ax7, a 6v6 and a rectifier tube. They drive cabinets (4ohm of course) really-really well, 6 watts can be pretty loud.

The novelty of the Lil' Smokey wears off after about 10 minutes. Save yourself the $20.

I compared the Roland Microcube with the VOX DA5. Both are compact, can run on batteries, have built-in FX. The VOX sounded better and was less expensive, so I bought it. I'm using it for tailgating jams & musician gatherings around campfires.
