I have the Weber Micro Mass. It is the only one that allows you to attenuate two ways, high and mid frequencies and mid and low frequencies. It is like adding two different tone controls to your amp and you can do some cool stuff with it.

Of course, I only got it because I wanted the compensated line out for my wet effects setup. Still, I find myself using the attenuation to color the sound...as well as just running them wide open.

It is a neat unit, but not enough juice for your amp. However, I would recommend a Weber.

Sleep. The sound doesn't collapse to riffs of early eyes either.

I have. I sold one Weber Mass already and the other is likely to go shortly. The THD just sucks less tone.
I want REAL change. I want dead bodies littering the capitol.

              Tim..your avatar...WTF is that???

I don't know crap about attenuators..there was a built-in ones on my Ampeg VL 100 Lee Jacksons..I never found a use for it because there was plenty gain on tap..I dunno..

              So I never touched it...well I touched it..but I never used it.

I can't see how that could happen considering how large the resistors are on my unit. Actually, on second thoughts...if he was using non-speaker cables then maybe I can. I've had no problems with mine what so ever, and I can dial up whatever impedence I want (which is where the THD units suck...you're stuck with whatever ohmage you buy).

I have a 1987X coming shortly and I will certainly need to attenuate it in the studio. It will not be used live. Just studio and at home.
WHy?????????? Just build an isolation booth/box and throw in a 57 and crank it . You can make an iso box pretty reasonably and use it for all your amps. There are plans and different designs online just search for .

If I get a Weber Mass should I get a 50?? My 1987x is 50w although I read that if I am going to dime the amp out and attenuate it I should get the 100w model.
