The only thing I notice this morning is my left middle finger is sprained. Both my hands hit the dashboard pretty hard.

Man that sucks... Now you're scaring me.
I just bought a new amp from Matt (mattsmusic) and it's supposed to arrive today via UPS.
As for the airbags, they only go off if the front or rear bumpers are hit at 35 MPH or greater. I don't think the '05 Jeep has side impact airbags.
                Glad your OK.

I spoke to Dave again today and he checked with Mesa. They will sell him a replacement cab for my Stiletto for $298.00!!!
I filed a damage claim with UPS and a rep is scheduled to check out the amp at Daves shop. I don't know when because I just filed the claim today. I put the claim in for a repair instead of a replacement. I put the repair estimated cost at $500.00 because we don't know if there is any internal damage. I also needed to add money for the cost of shipping the replacement cab from Mesa to Dave.
Hopefully this will all work out. Dave said that a new cabinet would make my once mint Stiletto Deuce mint again. If my existing cab is repaired it will be noticeable because the tolex is ripped.

                      Wow,
I was worried b/c when I shipped a head, the UPS disclaimer said that the claim has to be made at the place it was shipped from, not to. Seems it would be easy to deny a claim based on that clause. I am glad they are working with you.

Repair claims can be a hassle dude.. be very on your toes and keep all the paperwork from before shipment, during shipment and after throughout the fix on hand. I hope you get the parts and repair done fairly quick, but I would not be surprised if all initial expense for repair came out of your pocket.

Glad to hear your ok, not too banged up. UPS told me the same thing last year. The claim had to be filed where it shipped from, and it took them 2 months before they contacted me so that they could come over and check out the packaging and guitar. So it seems they're at least responding faster to your claim, good luck.

UPS has only send me the email confirming the claim has been filed. Now I have to get on their ass to send a rep out to inspect the damage. Dave is going to contact them too. I shipped it from my job and we are a fairly large customer of UPS so I will use that leverage too.
We also discussed Dave fixing and modding the amp and sending it back to me with the broken cabinet. My dad is a carpenter so I am pretty good with wood. I am sure I could fix it. Regarding the ripped tolex.. it doesn't really bother me. I want to see how fast UPS reponds first though.
This is a drag. Good think I don't need this amp.

Does he have an awesome set of tools??

                              Sorry, John..I couldn't resist.

I hope it all works out for you in the end. Get checked out by a doctor. Sometimes it takes days, even weeks for injuries to surface.

My poor old Mesa has come on some hard times! Sarge is definitely the guy to fix it though. I had the luxery of living a couple blocks away from him for a few years in the mid-late 90's. Great guy and great tech. He is actuall the head of the EE dept. at Penn State but his passion is tube amps. He has an amazing collection of vintage guitars and amps as well.
Have a great birthday and you can ignore my question that I PM'd you earlier...this thread has filled me in.
