  • Self-build Mic Preamp

    Hi all

Since there are some people here interested in recording i thought i post about my newest DIY project.
It's a 2 channel microphone preamp, strongly based (if not cloned) on the classic API 312 circuit (maybe some of you know this company). It's a transformer in, discrete opamp, transformer out design. The preamp has 48V phantom power, polarity reverse switch, Pad and a DI Input jack. It also has a line input (switchable between line and mic input)

    Here are two pics:

And here are two pics of my next project, a SWR bass preamp:

If you got any questions, feel free to ask.

Well actually yes. I have here a almost completed Version of the 1081. It's done with the original layout and the same transformers/inductors that AMS/Neve uses now. I just need to rewire most of the switches as the wiring diagramm i previously used contained some errors.
Oh and i have the preamp section of a 1073 laying around, together with a pile of suitable transformers. Just need to somehow organize a eq section for it and a completed 1073 should be on it's way.
