  • Firefly 1 Watt Amp

So a buddy of mine builds amps in his spare time. Has a few he already buiilt and was jonesin to build another but no funds so he's tells me "hey, want to build an amp?" So he builds it for free, all i pay is parts. SOOOO...
I tried out a few that he already had built and decided on the Firefly 1 watter. I had my doubts about how it would sound being 1 watt but damn.......
So warm, so full. Sounds the best through my LP Standard IMO. I don't know all the nasty details other than its all Baltic Birch with Celestion G12M Greenback speakers. 25 watts/16 ohms.
Here are some pics of the build...

Here is a pic of it pretty much complete. I just need a logo, faceplate and handles on the cab...

Instead of the standard Firefly logo we decided to go a bit different. Like so...

I am very happy with it and although it was a bit higher than i expected to build even with free labor i am totally psyched with this amp. It will be with me forever and i am honored he took the time and effort to build me one.
He is a member here so hopefully he'll chime in with some of the details that i have no friggin clue about
    Enjoy the pics !

Looks killer, I work on amps as well an can attest to the time that obviously went into that amp. Hope it sounds just as good!
Damn this is an expensive hobby.....

Yeah looks very good, you can see that the builder definitely does some clean work.
I think that doing the electronic assemble is more easy (well since i already build quite some gear myself, maybe i am used to). But i can't for the life of me do nice work with wood. So those cab pics really impresses me
