Vetta wins!!!

Does anyone know if they put a USB jack on the newer models of the Vetta? That is one thing about the POD that is nice. The connectivity and recording is a snap.

cool, I'll try that tonight at rehearsal. I'd love to get it quieted down on the high gain stuff. I probably stand too close to my amp in our rehearsal space also, not much to be done about that due to the space limitations.

I can stand right in front of my screaming Vetta with no feedback at all.
You may need to dial in your patches again once the compressor is off. Also, don't use any of that Vetta Juice or red box or blue box. They are all compressors and they add noise.
Let me know what patches you are having trouble with and I'll walk you through what the possible problems are.

thanks man. the one I'm having the trouble with is a custom JCM800 patch I made for my higher gain rythym and lead stuff. I'm trying to get that basic Marshall gain tone, ala classic Iron Maiden, etc. it's twin JCM800 amp models that are slightly differently tweaked as to settings (I found it sounded way better when the identical amp models are set slightly differently on each parameter - bass, mid, treble, etc, than when they are all dialed in the same). I also have the classic distortion pedal on it, IIRC.

I have that set as my Favorite and it feeds back like a mother when I click on it, and when I'm not playing. while I'm playing it does not feed back, just when I'm not playing. it sounds really great other than the noise when not playing or switching to it. so I got the tone I wanted but it's just noisy during inactivity. I don't think I have compression on it but I'll check tonight or this wknd and let you know. I don't use any of that other juice/boxes you mentioned.

thanks for your help bro. BTW, the controls on the amp are Drive and Presence. which one of those translates to "gain" on the Vetta? prolly the Drive? or is it on the pedal model one is using? or both?

Glad to hear it! Also, try mixing Spinal Puppet with the JCM800. Use the stereo chorus very slightly along with the double tracker. Run both amps in stereo panned hard right and hard left and pump them both through the 4 x 12 T75 cabs.

man that is one EVIL tone, right like I was talking about.
niiiiice. I guess it is the bit of chorus that gives it that cutting edge. I have to get more into the Line 6 models.

Its REALLy not that hard.

Step 1) Go to the Guitarget of your choice, take out your Credit Card and tell someone " I want to buy a Midi Box and cables

Step 2) Drive home

Step 3) Plug your midi cables into the only possible holes they will work in

Step 4) Downlaod a single program from line 6 and run it.

Step 5) Play your guitar and tweak the amp from your computer.


Thats it.

If a drummer can figure it out then pretty much even the dumbest guitar player should have no problem then.

I really get the impression that the Line6 amps are better than the XT and XTL for live playing. People usually love their amps for live playing, but hate using the XT or XTL because of "fizz". There must be something in the Line6 cabs and speakers that naturally tames the "fizz".

I have all three ( XT,XTLIVE,VETTA). No fizz problems at all. Most the fizz problems come from a common mistake of turning the gain up way too high. If your running direct you also need to do a littel tweaking to get the sound correct for a full range speaker.

Adjust the A.I.R settings on the out put section of the amp. It changes how the amp responds and sounds i differant situations. Like running through a
P.A. or a recording console. If it has a HO jack it should have the setting for HP in the A.I.R. controls of the output section.
