"Well, your friend would have Bell's Palsy, which is a facial paralysis, not "Balls Pelsy" like we're joking about here." Toejam's attempt at sensitivity.

ok, i'm just kidding. i thought the JMP-1 was pretty cool. But honestly it didn't have a really good high gain ability without some assistance from a pedal or something. it does the 80's rock no problem.
I want REAL change. I want dead bodies littering the capitol.
The JMP-1 was fine for that "almost sounds good" kind of thing. :ROTF:
Come play mine Tim..dude wants a classic marshall tone..it does that in spades!!
No "almost" about it..
you prolly almost dialed it in..

The MP-1 wins in terms of versatility on a budget. I bought a modded one, so maybe they aren't that great stock, but within five minutes of bringing mine home, I was able to get Metallica, Megadeth and Slayer distortion tones, plus cleans as good as any other preamp I've tried.
Get the discontinued Kasha Rockmod II, or if you can still find one a Rockmod I.
The new Kasha Rockmod pre amp's are $1600.!!!! That's too rich for my blood!!! I'd Never pay that much for any tube pre amp!!
The original MP-1 is the best value out there for classic hard rock and metal tones. I have gone through the JMP-1, triaxis, triple giant, fish, x-77, POD XT, and others and I keep going back to the ADA. The original ones (switch on top) are the best sounding.
