I tried them out and they seemed to make the amp more compressed...I am going to give them another shot though...when I tried them I messed with my amp during practice so didn't get much time to play with things...I'll let you know how I make out...

Did you get the whole set??

I didn't get a compressed sound at all...in fact it's seems a lot leaner on the attack...huh...hmmm..yes, let me know!!!

Your prolly not getting the "cut" with your original settings at band practice..I can see that..it makes the amps alot "darker" sounding..!!!

Chad, NICE...That shirt should read.."I want to shove my Tung Sols in your Uberschall"...

lets see how many stares I get then..prolly not much more than I get already..

So I got them in there now (the tung sols), I bought 4 of these these, I put 2 in my 5150 and 2 in my B-52 (matched set)
          The 5150 loves them
          I don't really hear a much of a difference in the B-52
I will say this they are gainier than the JJ's and I had hi gain JJ's in the B-52 I had to turn the gain down on both amps from where I had it set.
These seem to work better with real mid heavy amps (like the 5150) kind of evened out the mids a bit.
I'm going to leave them in there for a while so I can get them "broken in " a bit
I'll post up an opinion after a week or so.
If this is our perdition, will you walk with me?

Cool Nick..heyt for shit and giggles..throw all four in each amp..I'd try that in the 5150..if that head is taking to them like that..

I can see the 5150 getting a kick in the ass from the TS..I never tried a B52..seen them around tho.

Is the 5150 even more bottom heavy..I noticed I had to back off the lows a bit too to clean up the palm muted stuff..I used to craked the lows much higher with the JJ's..

Nick, I'll be here...keep me posted.

              hey Bill,

I don't know if the 5150 is more bottom heavy but it's like it kicked the amp awake. The B-52 is definitely more bottom heavy.
You could instantly hear the difference with 5150. the diff with the B-52 is more suble , but the B-52 has 6 preamp tubes.
I'm going to try all 4 in each amp see what the difference is (but even with just 2 in the 5150 it sounds way better )

It's funny I bought these for the B-52 and it looks like they're a better match for the 5150.
