  • Boss GT-6 review

I bought this from jcm800x and let me tell you...I am blown away by how versatile this pedalboard is! Tons of programs, most of them are very cool sounding!

The acoustic simulators are mind blowing! Very realistic.

I'm a big gain fan, so it comes up slightly short in that department running through the clean channel through my marshall. The way around that is to run it on o/d 1 and cut the gain down a little so it sounds just right.

I think I spent more in pedals and the boss pedalboard case and those can't produce the sounds this thing makes! Boss did a nice job with this one. The GT8 must be cool as hell. Though I am VERY happy with this item!

Once again, jcm800x is very cool to deal with.

Make sure you plug it into the effects return of your amp and not into the input.
Keep dialing it in. I used one for years and I never thought it had any lack of gain.

I'll have to fiddle around with it. Thanks for the heads up!

Opeth use them, so they must be good. I'm looking for a GT-8 myself.

I've been doing this ever since jgcable shared this method with the JCF. My GT-6 goes mono output to the effects return of my Mesa DC-2 combo.

It sounds immensely better than inputting through the front.

I keep trying to get that to work! there's an annoying buzzing when i use the loop and it sounds weird.

It could be me, but it sounds better when I don't use the effects loop.

I'm running both, send and return from both outputs on the head in to the gt-6. I plug in normally with a cord on the head.

              Wrong bro.
Take a cord and go from the mono output (left) on the GT-6 and plug it into the effects return jack of your amp.
Now, mess with the output settings on your GT-6 and see which one sounds best. Most likely it will be stack return or PA/Line.
Make sure you are plugging your guitar into the GT-6 input.

Fyi, supposedly the GT-6 is going to be at GC for $129 tomorrow.

In that case, I think that almost every JCF'r should own one!!!
                  Its a really nice piece.

the other guitarist in my band has a GT-6, he likes it a lot.
he can get about any tone we need through a Les Paul.
the guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives

The GT6 sounds great, unlike the GT8 and that abomination called GS10, which in my opinion have absolutely no tone.

post some clips of your GT6, I'll post some of my GT8. We'll compare and contrast.

Actually, the input choices (input, effects loop, line) and settings seem to work/sound differently for different amps. So, while the effects loop may have worked best for JG's rig, it may not work best for yours. I'd strongly suggest trying the different options, and use whichever sounds best for your own amp. Direct input and the "combo" setting worked best for mine.
