Traynor tube combos the amp to have!!!!

Hey guys,
I know alot of you all put up posts wondering about tube combo amps and such. Let me tell you that I just got back from trying out all the new Traynor Tube combos and they are smoking!!! The only one I didn't like was the 20 watt with the greenback speaker. Other than that I'd put the one with the 6L6 tubes up against a Mesa and the one with the EL34 tubes up against any Marshall!!!I couldn't believe the tone. If I didn't have my Mesa then I'd be all over one of these! If you get a chance to try one out then by all means do so. You'll be pleasantly surprised!

That's pretty funny! I have the 20 watt combo with the greenbacks and actually like it, but it's only a low gain/clean amp. You are right though, the 6L6 and EL34 models are very nice for the money. I still think a JCM800 blows the Traynor away and Boogies F class or even the old studio series are my favorite 6L6 amps, but they are both WAY more money then that Traynors.

Wow... you need to come over and hear my Marshalls and Mesa's.
I have an EL34 driven 1987x that would love to take on that challenge.

My main point is that for the money I haven't found a better tube amp. I love my Mesa and wouldn't take a Traynor for it but if I didn't have the money for Mesa then the 6L6 driven Traynor would gracefully get the job done. I really liked it.
As for the blue one with the 6L6's I'd still put it up against a Marshall. I've had several Marshall's including an original first year run JCM800. Mind you it was an AWESOME amp but the blue Traynor blue it away. I haven't played many modded Marshalls but I've never found any stock model that could compete with the blue Traynor overall. Especially since the Traynor is a plug and play amp. I've yet to hear a Marshall that didn't need a mod or a pedal to really sound good... Just my opinion though.

Anyway, anyone looking for a good tube amp that's on a budget needs to check these babies out! No pedals needed

I just picked up one of the new Kustom Coupe '72 2x12 combos, and that thing is AWESOME. Three EL34s and 4 6L6s, and it has so much gain that it's literally a plug in & shred amp. Plus it's got that cool sparkly blue top.

I'll have to check one of those Kustom amps out then. The same dealer carries both Traynor and Kustom. I'll ask him if he's getting one in.

There's really alot of great tube amps out for the money right now! Exciting stuff!!

I have had a YCV 80 for years and although I don't use it much I love the tone. It has a very tight attack and enough gain for all metal. It has a ton of cool features as well. Two kinds of effect loops, auto biasing, mid scoop and great reverb.

I definitely holds it own...Just a matter of personal taste.

It sounds totally different than any other Traynor I have played, including the 4x10 version and the 40 watt YCV.

yeah.. the Traynors seem to vary somewhat in models..with the 80 being the desired model from what I've read.. they have decent gain and nice tone flexibiilty. I'm interested in the 40 & 50 combo too.
I would think they could be compared on par with the twead Peavey classic 50.
