so you're saying the Yamaha unit is NOT designed to work with the Vetta? that's odd.
I got the M-Audio Midisport UNO connector for like $40 from GC. try that one, and let me know if you have any problems (via PM), I just did this and learned how it is supposed to work, so I'd be glad to help you.
That is the one I ordered at 1:30am from MF.
And I quote from the Line 6 site:
BLANK SCREEN:
Lets start with your interface. What MIDI to USB interface are you using? Some interfaces will not work properly with this application (EDIROL, YAMAHA, TURTLE BEACH) because they are either using an old technology known as "active sensing" or they cannot handle the large file transfer.
kinda makes these things look a little better, doesn't it?:
Not quite. When I consider first the price of a tube amp, plus the price of the effects pedals needed, replacement tube prices, the fragility and fickleness of tubes, and weigh that against what I paid for the Vetta ($700), I do not regret my decision one bit. Never have going back to when I bought my AX2 almost ten years ago.
ha ha yeah that's true bro, but considering the almost infinite sets of differing tones I can get from my Vetta, and the 50+ stompboxes in it, and the post-effects, and the 8 wah models, and the customizable wah and volume pedals which can be set for any other function you want, and the way cool feature of being able to customize your patch settings on the PC...
the complexity is worth it.
I totally agree, if you need maximum tonal flexibility, modellers are definetely the way to go

And all of those thoughts go away by the thundering roar of an E5 played through a cranked tube monster.

I have to admit... that thing certainly looks better. It doesn't sound better.. but it does look nice.
I'll invite ANY tube amp on the planet to go toe to toe live with my Vetta.
How's that for a challenge. Volume... tone.... "realness"... anything.
VETTA WINS!!! (providing you have a degree in programming!!!!)
must... resist... posting something... about not having to reboot a tube amp...
must...resist...posting something...about not having to worry about my tubes crapping out.
Think about it...
A Vetta is basically a computer that you plug your guitar into.
It is powered by high powered audio transformers.
When is the last time your car stereo or home stereo blew a transformer?
Regarding computers... my company has around 40 Dell computers. Some of them have been on for close to 5 years straight and have never been turned off except for power failures. They all work perfectly.
Ok, now, couple the high powered audio transformers with the computer. Thats basically a Vetta. Reliability??? Not a problem. I would trust my Vetta staying on for weeks straight with no problems. Try that with a tube amp. Ain't I neat!
