I decided to keep mine. Its just too darn cool and you just can't get that cranked Plexi tone from any other amp.
I am interested in having the master volume mod done. I also want to have an effects loop installed.
Any suggestions. I was also considering doing it myself. Splawn and Voodoo are too expensive considering how little work has to be done for these mods. I know that both of the companies are great but I don't want to drop $450.00 into this amp.

Assuming you know how to discharge the caps in your amp so you don't kill yourself deader than dead, a PPI master volume ("rich" mod) is pretty easy to do. Metropolous sells a kit for eight bucks:

I had considered a "Rich mod" on that amp before you got it John.

It is easily reversible, and worth a shot IMO. $10 in parts and reversible is A-OK in my book

The complaints against it were borderline PTP vs PCB argument territory - sounds like it'd be a matter of taste / hearing what you want to hear.

I think I am going to bring mine to a local guy and have quote me on doing the Master Volume, loop and switchable gain mod.
