  • Rack Effects Question...

Ok... Right now, I have been playing with the POD stuff for about 2 years. I am pretty happy with it for the most part. Well, right now, I am thinking about upgrading to something that will hold me for the next couple of years. So, since I have been a Line6 guy for a while, I was just thinking about dumping the cash on a Vetta II HD (I know the Vetta I can be upgraded, I like to buy new stuff except when it comes to guitars) and just using my existing 2XGenz-Benz2x12's as my half stack.

    Now comes the question...

I like rack stuff. I dont like messing with alot of pedals. Is there ANYTHING out there that provides the computer front end interface that line6 provides with their stuff? I hate messing with a fuckton of knobs in a rack. Any Multieffects processors / PreAmps that I need to shift my attention to before I go and and grab a vetta. I am basically looking for a dream rack that can be interfaced through a computer. It's been a very long time since I have looked into rack multieffects/Preamps.

What about the PODxt Pro rack unit? It's got a ton of knobs on the front, but according to their website "You can select any PODXT Pro Channel and automate any PODXT Pro parameter" via the midi control connector on the back of the unit.

VHT and Marshall rackmount preamps have midi controls too.

I actually have a pod pro right now. Will have to look into the VHT stuff.

A PODxt Pro is an excellent choice. Fully upgraded they have more or less the same amps and effects as the Vetta.
I want REAL change. I want dead bodies littering the capitol.

POD Pro is not the same as a PODxt Pro - huge difference.

yeah but you won't have the ability to run 2 amps at once like you can with the vetta. and you'd have to buy a seperate power amp.

vetta is all in one and more. the only thing you would maybe want to ad is the floorboard.

Well, looks like my decision is being confirmed. I already have the long board. The only thing that I need to haul around is a head. I believe that thing will fit in the back of my G35 coupe and 2 guitars can fit in the front. Cabs are already at home and at the place that I play at. Shit man... Looks like this is the only/best way to go. From what I understand, this amp will shake your fillings out of your mouth and not even be maxed out.

I really wish there was one in the bay area to check out. I have been pleased with the PodProXT so far. I just want something that is a little more mobile.

I really appreciate the input so far. Looks like I will become a Vetta user within the next month.

Been doing alot of reading about this amp. And I have been seeing people putting tube buffers and other things in the FX loop. Any essential gear to get with this setup?

Purchase made... Be here in 7 days. Brand spanking new VettaII HD.

Now, when I turn on the amp in the dark, people will think that UFO's landed in my office.

Thanks Matt for dealing with my nervous ass =)
