  • Saving problems with Flextone II

My Flextone II that I just got today won't save properly. It saves fine while the amp is on but resets to factory settings when I turn it off. I'm guessing the battery is dead but I have no idea where the battery is or if it's possible to replace it myself. Anyone have any experience with this sort of thing? I don't want to ship my amp off to Line 6 to replace the battery because it's gonna cost me probably half of what I paid for the goddamned amp in the first place.

Turns out the battery fell off. I don't know how the fuck it was attached because the battery clip is too small for the battery to sit in and it looks like the clip was never soldered on...I improvised a bit and it's working but its a SKETCHY AS FUCK fix using the clip going over both sides of the circuit board as a clamp holding the battery on and pinching another clip that was on the circuit board on top of the battery. I think this is how it was in the first place, there's no other way it could've been mounted....Does anyone know how much this sort of thing costs to sort out at a repair center? I don't know how it is supposed to be mounted, there must be another part involved or something but I doubt it would take any longer than 15 minutes for someone who knows exactly what they are doing.

Nah I bought it used, they stopped making these a few years ago. I'm pretty sure it just got shaken loose a bit in shipping from being placed on its side or something where the battery could slip out.
