  • Stereo preamp=2 equalizers?

Hi there, I'm running a stereo preamp, and it seems rare to find a stereo parametric equalizer. Would it be worth getting two parametric equalizers, or is it safe to run the parametric in the effects loop? Plus, has anyone heard of Biamp products?

    Thanks a lot,
    Nick

An EQ in the loop should be fine so long as the levels all match up.

Biamp? Isn't that like an extinct co. from the 70's and 80's?
I want REAL change. I want dead bodies littering the capitol.

I run a parametric EQ in the loop of my ART rack pre, no problem. Both units have loop level controls. Some EQs tend to generate quite a bit of noise, so if you have some sort of suppressor to run after it in the loop, that would probably be wise.

I think it´s fine to run it in the loop as long as it´s a series loop, not a parallell...unless it´s a parallell that really goes up to 100% wet. Otherwise I believe you´ll get some sort of phasing issue.
