Ohms rating

My friend has a 2X12 cab with two 16 ohm Celestion Vintage 30 speakers. It is wired as a mono cab. What would the ohm rating of the cab be? Sorry if this question is so basic or simple that I should know. Is there a way to check it with a multimeter? Thanks in advance for your replies!

99% chance they are wired in parallel, which would be 8 ohms. In the very slight chance that they are series wired that would be 32 ohms. To check, just put a multimeter on the ohms setting and hook it to the cabinet teminals, but NOT with the cabinet hooked to an amp.
