Oh well...the more I play it and let other people listen to it, it does sound like blown speakers, although I know that's impossible. At least I have a solid cabinet and can just replace the speakers, which should save me some money, I think. Also, it gives me an opportunity to try a mix of V30s, and probably the G12H30s. I just gotta come up with the money I'll most likely buy from Dave at Avatar Speakers.

      Cheers,
      Nick

And thank you all very much for your quick problem solving skills; I appreciate your help in figuring out the problem.

I second it could be the speakers. I had the same thing happen to me with the G12T-75´s in a Marshall 1922... god knows how it happened, really, but it most definitely did.

Yeah, I know how much a sound clip would help, but I don't have any recording devices. Two questions, though: Is having my rack right next to my cabinet possibly causing any magnetic issues? Also, I took the speakers out of the 412; the solder connections look solid and well done, but I did find a crack in the top piece of wood of the 412. Will this be detrimental to anything?

            Cheers,
            Nick

              I doubt it.

For those who haven't experienced this, it's kinda like:

"Chunk" (low, chunky chord hit), followed, within about 1/2 a second, a "Whoomp"

At least that's kinda what I experienced with my problem. I know it's kinda lame, giving written interpretations, but that's the best I can do. Maybe if Misanthrope can throw up an MP3 recording link, that may help trace the issue.

Haha, here's my written interpretation. "Chunk" followed by about 2 seconds of "bvvvv" mixed with crackle. When I chug repeatedly I get a continuous low bvvv and crackle. Sorry I can't get an MP3 recording up.

                Cheers,
                Nick

Wow, that's seems worse than what I experienced. Hope you manage to get it fixed.

Its a speaker issue. The fart is a bad voice coil or another structural speaker issue. One or both of your speakers is on the way out.
A crack in the cab will give you a rattle or vibration but not a fart.

Thanks jgcable...my dad and Spencer (who answered the phone) at Avatar both commented that it sounds very likely that I fried the speaker coil. Glad to hear there's a consensus, and I can buy new speakers without feeling like I'm wasting money.

Yeah, although it's a small dent in my finances to afford new speakers, Dave at Avatar has a set of 4 G12T-75s and G12T-100s for $199 plus shipping. The V30s are $299 plus shipping, but I think I'll use this opportunity to try out some new speakers. I'd love to try the G12H30s...but I think they're too low wattage to use with just one cab.

                      Cheers,
                      Nick

Oh yeah, and the V30s I have in my cab are labeled from England. Though I can't do anything with them anyway (besides trash them) since they're bad, I think I'll still hold onto them for love of antiques...since as I understand the new Celestions are being made in China?

                        Cheers,

Don't chunk them, send them to me... eventually it will be worth getting them reworked

Didn't have time to run through all the posts. BUT, I will say I'm big into the parametrics, and the Behringer is the worst parametric 've heard. It is truly a tone coffin.

The Ranes are great, Furman PQ-3/4 are ok, and I use the TC 1120 tha I think is the shit.

I had a Behringer for like two days and hated it. It's pretty, but sounds like ass. Even Bill agreed the noisy ass Furman PQ-3 was heads above it.

Just some extra input. Not to bash your EQ.
