What do you think of the clips? I know they could have added effects n stuff but it sounds like they have a ton of sustain.

Is Guitarhead Active pickups considered Amps??? or Effects???
My guess is that they are neither and that is why you are getting nothing on this post which is placed in the wrong section.

Why the tech section? I'm not asking a technical question nor am I having tech problems. I'm asking about one part of my set up that goes along with my prize possession.

I have been on this board since the start of the original and I have seen many threads regarding pups here with no grief.

Ya know...If someone posts a question in the wrong place, why not just answer their question (if you can) and re direct them? Instead of going out of your way to comment on why no one is answering?

I have EMG's wired for 18v in my XTRR so I'll probably do that...Gunna get 85 this time so I can mix it up a bit. Got all 81's right now. I think I liked the 9v better though...I'll throw the PA2 in if I go with the EMG's again.

The price of the Guitarheads looked real good though.

Oddly enough, I'm looking at his 7 string humbuckers. The sound clip sounds pretty damn good, especially for the $40 or so the pair would cost on my DX7 salvage project. Would guess that they're about the same quality as GFS - designed here, made in Korea. He's a pretty good guy - has always answered my questions and shipped quickly (although the inside of his padded mailers smell like a nightclub, save the beer)...

So I went ahead and ordered two EMG 85s and a PA-2...Fuckers tell me because they ARE an authorized they can't sell outside the US...
