I was never a fan of Vintage 30s..but I think you may be correct sir!!!


The only time I thought they sounded decent is in the tall Recto cab..

I'm not a big fan of the V30s all that much either, but they do sound great when mixed together with the G12T-75s.

Really Cool..when my dude comes back from Europe..I need to hound him like a humping bulldog for a Uberkab..I'll just cry like an asshole until I get one..that's usually how I get things..

So it's my Marshall cabs for now..all w G12T-75s..I like 'em.

Damn i need his number, when i opened the back of my uber cab to see the speakers i let all the good bogner air out and now it is sounding like crap.

Of course the air that gets packaged in the enclosure when it's built has a lot to do with it.

Personally, I bought some Traditional Style 1968 Vintage NOS Air off a guy on ebay... It was quite good. He has an awful lot of it too...

Is it a gas, John said NOS..Laughing Gas..whippets..where do they put the air..I opened up many a cab..there some fuzzy shit in there and four speakers and umm..a few wires..if I remember right..

Is it like a balloon..I have ZERO clue of this..I never heard, read or saw anything about puttin air in or out of a cab in my entire life..

I think this topic needs a dedicated thread..because If I don't know this..I can't be alone..

Yes, I heard many speaker farts..epecially bass cabs..lots of flatulence going on in those..especially cheap speakers..even my Hartke XLs farted like mad..I didnt like those with my GK 800 RB head..lots of farting go on there..

NOS is New (yet) Old Stock... Referring to tubes usually. But, this is New Old Stock air...

You let the air out of the Bogner cab looking at the speakers? Prolly won't be right again... I don't think that is covered under warranty either... Maybe call them and explain...

apparently so..I never opened any of the new ones I bought here..

But I always opened a used ones to check the speakers of course..mostly Marshall cabs..I never heard a difference after opening them..

I opened that Peavey cab and discovered those Celestion 80's that I loved so much..that cab kicked ass!!

take your marshall cab, and put some vin 30's in the bottom or in an X pattern. if you like the sound of that, you'll most likely love the Uberkab even more.

I never see the reason to X-pattern stuff. Especially of you mic it live... Which one to mic etc... I just wanna find a speaker that rocks.

I think the EVMs I have are pretty badassed.

Cleve - EVM's rock, but damn they are heavy! I bet your cab with four of those weighs 150 pounds. I put an EV in a boogie combo once, I swear it doubled the weight. (doubled the tone though too)
