Between the MKIV and Deliverance, I like the MKIV more for it's versatility. But if you favor a single channel amp, and like to use pedals, the Deliverance might be a better option.
As for Engls build quality (or lack thereof), they are far from being the best built amps around. Engls cut numerous corners, and use various cost saving measures not found in other amps in their price range.
