D'oh! I thought it was a 10" for some reason. My bad. Dr. Newc will just have to get one of the 10" Celestions or Eminence speakers and cut it in half then!
I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.
I'm actually thinking of buying one to build a cab for my zvex nano head. One thing I noticed that will work well for me is that the db is 91 on these, and the GT75s (that I used for my clip) are 97db. so, that's a huge reduction in volume, which is what I'm looking for. I may have to port the cab to get a little more low end, but hey, I like what I see so far!
I'd suggest a cab design but you'd probably think I'm nutz, but who doesn't?
Anyhoo, I used to have this genuine silk Made-In-England tophat that was nice and beat (I got it like a month before G-N-R hit it big, I swear), and I used to stick it behind my Baby Gorilla amp (open back) and got amazing bass response with it.
Nothing that would rattle windows or cop a 4x12 rumble, mind you, but just enough to make my 12-piece pedal chain sound like it had some balls.
Soooo, say a cabinet that was twice as deep as the diameter of the speaker? IIRC it was an 8" deep hat and the cab itself was 4-5" deep, and the speaker was 6".
Might be something in that.
I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood

Pete - check out http://www.partsexpress.com for speaker building stuff. They have bass port tubes, cabinet designs, hardware, carpet, etc.
I want REAL change. I want dead bodies littering the capitol.
Ok, I got the Celestion speaker today. Guess what? It's too big for the Cube. The Cube appears to have a 4.5" speaker, so to fit in the Cube, I'll hafta A) expand the hole in the frame or B) mount it on spacers and drill new mounting holes.
Could be interesting either way.
