Geez, and I thought I had the only SOB out there! It's an '81 60 watter that I bought for $300 off of Eddie Money's guitarist in '83 or '84. More headroom and volume than any one person should be allowed to possess...glad to see you don't have the "my parent's patio furniture wicker"-version!

Awesome amps for the money, I think they're still about $300 or so....

Agreed on Riveras. Those Makos have been sounding really good as of late too.

Vintage Traynor cabs are sorely inderated. Hell Traynor amps are too. Also Kustom, Koch, and Ashdown amps rarely are mentioned.

BV's seem to get a bad rap in general, they're not bad amps at all.

A BBE worked very well in the loop of a Crate BV120 I was playing..It's a flip of a coin if a amp will sound good with the BBE unit..the Crate took to it very well..that was actually the deal breaker when a customer at GC was on the fence about buying the BV..

I do prefer the old 422 models but I used a newer BBE 462 that GC had in stock...and it really woke up the Crate.

What's with those S.O.B amps? Never really heard much about them. A mesa head for $300 suggests they have a pretty bad rep, but it sure looks cool!

Good call on Koch! I tried a Powertone a couple years ago and it sounded AWESOME! Does anyone here own one?

The S.O.B. was Boogie's early attempt to bring back the Mark I, just slightly modernized. Purists didn't seem to like it, and the lack of channel switching didn't appeal to others. It wasn't in production very long, and they're isn't much info available on them. The vast majority of them are 60 watt combos. I have only heard of a few 100 watt heads like mine, and never seen pictures of another.

                                Here's a schematic for a 60 watter I found:
