    the B-52 At 100 series.
people rag on these all the time but everyone that's ever played thru mine
    has been blown away.
If this is our perdition, will you walk with me?

Thanks! I only have about 10 hours on mine, probably - still has the original tubes. The guy I bought it from used it as a tour backup (he even threw in an Anvil case!). Just WAY too loud for home use. I will keep the schematic for future reference if I have an "incident"...

+1 on old Riveras getting too little love. I´ve got a 1987 TBR-1 and a mid-nineties "old style" Knucklehead K-55, and between the two of them I´ve got everything covered from Hank Marvin to Korn. I don´t understand why the old Knuckleheads are overlooked the way they are for heavier stuff... I suppose the vintage look and all the talk about the clean channel (which in fact is outstanding) throws people off.

A funny thing about my set-up is that the vintage-styled Knucklehead (mine is wine red with blonde front) handles the heavy high-gain stuff and the TBR-1 (which looks like something left over from the set of Terminator) handles the classic rock mid-gain stuff.

I just never heard one with enough gain for real heavy stuff. Great amps for sure but most heavy players I know who are going to spend money on serious gear like that don't want to have to throw a pedal in front of it just to get them started...Too many amps out there that do the job all by themselves.

I know a guy who owns a music store and he uses nothing else but he plays very low gain stuff.

Do they have a hi gain amp out there now?

I had a Laney AOR 100 watt pro tube head back in the 80's that I wish i never sold. A tad buzzy, but over all a cool distortion goin' on.

My Krank. I own a Rev 1 combo and most people online kick Krank for the things they did with the reviews. I never experienced any of these actions nor did I allow what other people think of Krank to decide if thats the right amp for me or not. I didn't even know who Krank was untill I played there Distortus Maximus Distortion pedal. I owned a Fender Twin amp and the Krank Pedal blew me away. I liked it so much I wanted to try there amps. Then I found the Krank Rev 1 in a combo and loved it.
My clean channel is like Fender clean but alittle darker in tone, my Drive channel is the very best drive channel I heard in any amp I played. I plug straight in and it rips man.

Yeah, me too. Mine wasn't really buzzy, though. I'm dying for one of those. I really miss the tones.

Never played one..Andy Sneap certainly makes them sound AWESOME..that's for sure!!!

I never read a good reveiw about Kranks or from guys I know.. but I NEVER heard a bad recording of one either..

Tell me, what kind of tone do you go for..have you ever played a Uberschall (what I have) and what are your thoughts..

Kranks are not discussed very much here..but some of my favorite bands/players use them...so I'm curious.

I was just remembered my favorite player/band Nevermore played Kranks and for the first time I wasn't too happy with Jeff's rythm tone.. his leads seemed fine..but I been with those guys since they were playing for 25-50 people and saw Jeff play thru about 5 different rigs thru the years including his POD pro..even then his palm muted rythms were articulate..who knows it could have been the soundman, the venue or whatever..at The House of blues, which is pretty consistant in good sound ..but that was my only exposure to a Krank.

The current Knuckleheads and especially the K-Tre have ridiculous amount of gain, no-one can need that much. The old Knuckleheads without reverb also have a healthy amount of gain, easily in the DSL/TSL vein of things. The Mick Thompson sig KR-7 is on the horizon as well, and that one should be pretty heavy as well.

But yeah, most of their models thru the years have been geared towards mid-gain stuff and rock.

the good old marshall mode four seems to have a little less gossip than it's tried and true jcm800 - plexi brothers!

to me, it's quite good!! very nice cleans and smooth overdrives+rhythm tones when the distortion is on.

the gt6 pedalboard helps matters a lot as well.
