Saw a Yamaha DG 1000 preamp being sold for next to nothing at the music shop so I was wonderig if I should go and buy it. I mean if it's good enough for Alan Holdsworth... Right? Wrong! Here's peoples general response: "No tubes? Tsk, tsk.. Not good.." Typical, eh?
Your view on this preamp? Haven't tried it out properly yet but I'm considering taking it home and trying it in my rack setup. I liked what little I heard of it at the store. Good cleans, different crunch stages, lead 1 and 2.. Lots of options. Loved the way the knobs adjusted to the presets too! If I like it I'll buy it.. But I'd like some other folks' view too. So - fire away
