  • fravorite Boost pedal

ok guys, list your favorite clean boost pedals and what you like about them.

SD-1, adds that creamy hair to your amps distortion. (kinda like the RATT guitar sound)

The SD-1 is perfect for that classic VH/Ratt tone..the TS-9 too..

Keep going, I waiting for people to hear what folks are using to slam their gain monsters, be it Rectos, 5150s, Ubers, Cobras, Deizels and so on..It's seems the Maxon 808 is a popular choice..what's with these Maxons..alot of pros are using them.

        I had TS-9, OD-1, SD-1, DS-1..all good stuff..didn't like the Metal Zone much..too "hairy" for me..

I LOVE the old Korg Hyper distortions...alot!!

It's not that my Uber doesn't have enough gain or "push" on tap as it is..but I want something that makes squeals, harmonic divebomb..ect REALLY jump out like crazy..because I do that stuff alot.

        I'm going for a Jeff Loomis kind of tone..maybe a Krank pedal..eh?

        I'm listening..
"Bill, Smoke a Bowl and Crank Van Halen I, Life is better when I do that"
        Donnie Swanstrom 01/25/06..miss ya!

I use it with my recto to tight it up and mid boost it during recordings. Soon it will boost my tiny terror to bring it into metal territory.

I sometimes use a DOD Juice Box (the older version of the Bad Monkey), and it rocks! Pretty much their versions of the Tube Screamer.

A Tech 21 American Woman is pretty good, too, especially with its built in noise gate.

I forgot to mention that digitech overdrives have separeted controls for bass and treble, a nice feature imo.

I use an Ibanez TS-7 that's been modded to TS808 specs - basically the same as a Maxon OD808 - into a 3ch Triple Recto. Tightens things up nicely. Even the stock TS-7 is pretty close to the original TS-9...

these are clean boosts to you guys? wierd. to me a clean boost is something that colors your sound as little as possible while increasing the volume. all the pedals listed here color your tone like crazy.
I want REAL change. I want dead bodies littering the capitol.

Yeah, the title is misleading - I went with what DR was actually talking about, instead of what his title said.
