EH Holy Grail question

Have any of you guys tried using something besides the adapter that comes with the EH Holy Grail pedal to power it? I know the book says youre not supposed to but I'm gonna have to change my whole setup around if I cant use my Voodoo Lab to power it. Just wondering!

I had a Holy Grail back in the spring and I recall having to use the EH adapter for it as it was a pretty high Ma rating on it if I remember correctly. I used to just plug that into the power socket on the back of my Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2. I ended up getting rid of the Holy Grail due to issues with noise and volume drop when it was on. I have since switched to a T-Rex Room Mate.

Thanks for the info Rudy, I think I'm gonna have to end up doing a similar thing.

It will definitely bring in an unwanted whine noise if you use the pedal without the supplied power adapter. I tried it with a different power supply and quickly changed back. Terrible noise.
