This is what I just do not get. I mean, so you have the same amp Warren used, and I'm sure he'll tell you the settings, and it's easy enough to get the same type of guitar (body/neck wood, pickup, etc), but you're still going to say it doesn't sound like Warren.

If you're "close", go with it, because the rest of it is in Warren's playing AND the mixer they recorded through.

Play your amp through your stereo and maybe you'll find you're already on it.

A Splawn would do the trick, but his tone is in the fingers.

That's why I try to sound like me. I find an amp sound *I* like, and play on from there. I don't even want to THINK that I'm anywhere on par with some of those players...because I'm NOT. I'm a hack...

No one is saying that using a Soldano, etc, will make you sound exactly like Warren or anyone else. However, choosing certain amps can get you closer to the overall sound. The soldano forum is w ww.soldano.conforums.com/index.cgi?action=loginon=login

Hell, I overheard a dude, at a local shop, last week that NAILED Warren's vibe, and he was playing through a Marshall MG half stack, at the time. Like previously stated, much of it is in the hands, not the amp.

I think I read on here once that during the Invasion recordings, Warren and Robbin tried all kinds of effects and such to get a good sound, but in the end, they just plugged into their amps (Marshalls, I believe) and cranked them. There may be some post-production going on that we don't know about.
