check out the 1A preset, crank the "drive" knob, adjust the "effects" knob to about 1 or 2, full channel volume, add EQ to taste and voila: you have a pretty damn good riffing tone!

POD's are sick!! You can't beat the 2.0 for what's in the box. I, for one, think they are much better than the XT...

the newest update is 3.01 i think. if you have the XT or Live download the Monkey software and plug your unit into the computer with USB and itll check for updates automatically. the update adds a few more amp models (like the Line 6 Modern Hi Gain, which is the Soldano X88R preamp and is pretty sweet! good Megadeth Rust In Peace tones!)

i have an XT Live that i got with the Metal Shop model pack installed, and i have a love/hate relationship with it. ive settled on the Big Bottom patch for my distorted tones now, and im pretty happy with it.

i havent tried it through a cab. i mainly just use the Pod for direct recording and jamming. im working on a 2nd rig (my main is a 5150 and 4x12) which will consist of a Peavey Rockmaster preamp and a Peavey Classic 120 power amp. should kill a few animals at 100 paces

ill probably try the Pod through the 120 when i get it all hooked up, see what its like.
