Dang ... I went to go buy one and they seem to not have any available at this time... Guess you were not too impressed with the clip they provided? The couple of reviews on harmony-central were on the positive side. $1300 for the unit is a little on the steep end for me though.

After listening to the clips, they have nice effects. But, the problem is that it was way too sharp and not enough umph to them. I am sure that this could be resolved with a bit of EQing. But, it felt like it was done in a hospital.

Man, I'm still waiting for a report on this. It's been months since anyone mentioned this unit. Tim?
I've got 1k worth of pedals ready to go for one of these.
I recently got rid of my two low gain-watt clean amps and bought a Champ 600 instead. Now I only have high gain amps and my pedals are not in use as much. I really need a GREAT modeller. I've tried the others and they just didn't cut it for me.

Some of the clips I've heard haven't exactly knocked me out, and I'm not a tube snob. Just seems weird that a device made for direct recording and is the holy grail by many people's estimations has some lackluster clips out there.
However, it may be a case of having so many parameters (like a Vetta) that people can really hang themselves with options... I'm really looking forward to Tim getting one, as he's a fair, impartial hardass when it comes to gear.

I'm mostly interested in it as an effects unit. I have an Eventide Eclipse which sounds brilliant but it's got slow patch change times and is not the friendliest piece of gear around to use. So I've been using a PODxt Pro in my rack for extra effects and alternate amp tones but quite frankly I think it's pretty weak compared to the Roland stuff.
I haven't been blown away by the amp sims on the Axe-FX from the clips but the effects sound really good, particularly with the routing options available. If it doesn't work out, I know I can flip it fast without losing any money. Then I'm going to try a GT-Pro or a G-Force.I want REAL change. I want dead bodies littering the capitol.
