MXR Distortion + Script vs Block

I scored an MXR distortion + script logo in mint condition off the bay

Well I have always been a fan of the old MXR pedals and own alot of them. I used the block distortion+ till now and this morning I got the script version. I have always wanted to compare them head to head to see what really IS the difference everybody's talking about. Well for all those that wondered, they ARE different in sound.
So to all that ever wondered about the differences:

The block logo sounds a bit stronger and have more gaint to it, its also more "fuzzy" in tone and got more treble, while the script logo sounds alot warmer, it has a bit less gain and less fuzz and actually sounds more like an overdrive/distortion then a fuzzbox.

So I actually love each and every one of them.. If you wanna rock with the blues go with the script, and if you wanna rock with the fuzzy hendrix sounds, go with the block! (Although the script falls into the hendrix category with ease!)

btw I checked the date of my pedals, the block is 81/82 and script is 77.

That's ok. There are many people who don't like his tone. But you know it's Randy when you hear it. He's my fav is all, so I just like to know little tidbits and trivia about his gear. Rock on!
