  • Jc-120

I stopped by a pawn shop on the way home from work today just for kicks. They had a JC-60 sitting behind the counter and I mentioned to the lady that I had not seen one before, but I would be interested if it was a 120. See said let me see if there was one in back. Out she comes rolling a JC-120. She pulgged it in and it sounded great with no scrach/pop sounds. I asked how much and she said let me see what I can do. She said how about $150 out the door. I told her "Deal".

I have to tell you that even though it is not tube, pretty, or high end .... Those amps are a sweet unit, and loud!

I got it home and ran a Pandora through it and sounded great. Then I hooked a GT8 up to it and I was like a kid in a candy store. Vetta who?

After the effect fest, I just played it straght with the chorus. I just dig the clean from those JC's. I know I'm a minority for my JC 120 chorus passion, but does anyone else know where I'm coming from?

I know EXACTLY where you're coming from! I loved these amps since they first came out a long time ago. You got a steal there, my friend, congrats

        $150!!!! Talk about a score.
I've been looking for a decent JC-120 for under $500 since forever.
        No luck here.
Best price I've seen was $450, but it was trashed.
If you ever wish to part ways with it, I'll pay ya double what you paid for it!

Best clean sounding amp ever made.

Cool find. Kinda makes me wonder what else they have stockpiled in the back? With your luck, you shoulda asked if she had any Dumbles.

I do, and so does James Hetfield.

Wow! I feel better about myself .... There is a few that get the JC-120.

I like the Cult and their guitarist used a JC-120 up to the Electric cd. All I need now is a Memory Man Deluxe and I can be just like The Edge! Of course the odd of being alone is much higher in liking the early U2 sound

I bought an older JC-120 about 3 years ago. They are flat awesome. I bought it mostly for clean stuff, like my Roger McGuinn and older Beatles songs needing that "jangling" sound. I run my guitar through a Jangle Box compressor. It's dead on Mr. Tamborine Man, Eight Miles High. Really cool amp! And as you already found out, it can be a really loud amp when you crank it up! It also makes a great electric acoustic amp as well!

Congrats on finding a JEM for a great price!

I love that for a Dokken like clean tone. WAS my all time fave clean amp, untill I picked up the Rivera Bonehead - but that is a kickass score on a kickass amp! Congrats !

The Fixx, everytime I hear their tunes, I want a JC-120.

To me, a JCM800 and a JC-120 with an A/B box is a great way to have a near perfect 2channel amp.
