Anyone have any experience with Marshall Mode Four half stack for Metal and hard rock sounds? Will I be dissapointed with the sound after using my Marshall 50w valve combo for so long?

I tried one for about an hour and I could not get it to sound good...I thought the valvestate sounded twice as good. I walked away wondering how Marshall could have relesed this...Buzzy...Yes...very. Like Pete said it has no projection...Even in the music store the sound got lost...Just with people walking around.
Personaly I have come to my own conclusion that using valves in the pre amp to get a "valve like" tone is pointless after you go above "Sitting by your self, practice levels"...JMHO...

...i sure like the "Look" of it though. I kept wondering if
i purchased the right head? I did! I too tried it out for only about 10
minutes, and it sounded like a 20 wt Crate amp imo. Thin...nasally...
Why ill never know.. My 50 wt DSL2000 has warm stinging sustain,
and a focused tight bottom end. Nothing like the 350. Weird that its
that bad?

I wouldn't use one if you paid me.

mf280 cabs are KILLER! The head is similar to an Ibanez Thermion to me in terms of tone.Last edited by Robotechnology; 02-17-2007, 11:21 PM.

In my opinion, even the newer "all valve" marshalls seem buzzy. When I first got my SOldano and AB'ed it to my TSL100 (which wasn't sitting right with me for years, and my band members always complained that it was too fuzzy),,,,,,,,,I literally thought it was funny, and put the TSL on ebay the next day.
