Hey guys, I bought a Tubeworks MOSValve MV-962 amp (160w... 80 per side @4ohms) and it got here the other day. I hooked it up to my Marshall 4x12 1960a cab and only one side is working (right side speakers only). I tried a few different ways of hooking it up, and the cab is set to stereo in the back so it should be ok I'd think. I'm running stereo out the back of the amp. Both channels are working, but the cab is one-sided hehe. I opened the back and checked the wiring to the speakers and everything seems to be intact. Has anyone seen anything like this? I'm a bit stumped. Call me amp-stupid :ROTF:

Do the dead speakers stay off even when you switch the cab to mono?
Regardless, sounds like an maybe issue within the switch or switching jacks if it uses those like my Ampegs do.
I have a mono stereo, impedance switch network in my Ampeg / Celestion bottoms and one of them does ill stuff sometimes. I'm about to ditch their switcher junk and hardwire it mono 16 ohms...

The Marshall stereo/mono switch gizmos are well known for failing. Mine died a while back. A local small shop here actually keeps them in stock for that reason: http://www.darrenriley.com - Darren is very cool and he'll ship it to you no problem.I want REAL change. I want dead bodies littering the capitol.

try each side of the poweramp into the working side of the cab. then try each side of the poweramp into the other side. that should answer the question of what is F'd up. then try running out one side of the pwramp and switching the cab to mono to see if all 4 speakers will work in that config.

The assembly he is selling is much better quality too than the original Marshall setup. Thicker speaker wires for one, and instead of the speaker wires being soldered to the PCB, they are clipped on... just like on the speaker side. Very cool. Overall it is well worth the $50 plus shipping it cost me. Darren now has a new word of mouth salesman. I will turn everyone over to him who needs parts now haha
Thanks again man! My cabinet thanks you too haha- Adam
