There is a complexity to the tone that the Line 6 stuff lacks. They make up for it with gazillions of models. At this point I find that the Boss stuff is more 3-D and the Line 6 stuff is more 2-D - I am seriously thinking of yanking my PODxt Pro out of my rack because whenever I play my Boss stuff it just sounds more lively.

Been there done that Tim. The Vetta is better sounding to my ears no matter how I hook up the GT-8. Especially the 2 amps at once feature. I do like the effects better on the Boss though.
With that said.. I am really nit picking between the 2 because the GT-8 is REALLY excellent. Maybe its just that I am so used to hearing the Vetta.

I get the GT-PRO is an excellent piece of equipment.

UPDATE>>>>> I had band rehearsal with the GT-8 played through the effects return of my 5150II head. I set up a nice 5150 patch for rhythm, a killer lead patch, an acoustic patch and a nice effect rich clean patch.
Outstanding. The GT-8 sounds just as good as the Vetta and its really nice having an acoustic simulator.
My bandmate is going to use the SLO100 along with the GT-8 live in the 4 cable method. He is only using modeling for the acoustic patch and the solo patch. I am going to use my Vetta live.
Bottom Line... You are right again Tim. The GT-8 sounds fantastic live when it is set up properly.
