I see what Norton is saying. Why model, when you can have the real thing? Mustaine doesn't need to set-up, carry, adjust, or do a goddamned thing to any of his gear except be handed a guitar by his tech. He could have a different amp for every song on the set list if he wanted. It's gotta be about the money. Tube amps shine when cranked up, and he is one of the few people lucky enough to play places big enough where he could crank a 100+ watt amp all the way. There's no way this could sound better than the real deals. Modeling is all about versatility, with a compromise that grows smaller every generation. But in his position, why compromise, unless your making a ton of dough?

I'll tell you what, guys... this thing sounds absolutely amazing on the couple tracks I've heard off the new album. Having Andy Sneap behind the desk doesn't hurt, but fuck, does that thing sound good!

Not to mention that the songs absolutely RULE, too! Some of this shit sounds like it's straight off CTE... good ol' Mustaine at his best, IMO.

oh yea. I could buy a Laney or Marshall head for under $2K here. A Mesa for under $4K. Or a Vetta II for under $6K. So I see what your saying.

          I know Dave's Tech

          Hey Guys,
I happen to personally know Dave's guitar tech. He's a friend of mine, and they're coming to Chicago on May 5th with Dio and Sabbath. Hopefully, I'll get a chance to have him sign my Y2K and I'll find out more about the new Line 6 for everybody.

Mustaine was NEVER known for his tone, but is writing and technique. Maybe now his tone will sound as good as his writing and technique.

Line 6 would not bother to make something that looks THAT much like a production item if they didn't intend to sell it. I'll bet it gets announced at Summer NAMM, after 'Deth's been on tour for a while.
Division - American Metal that doesn't suck. Much. Even on Facebook.

Didn't they make a special rack delay for the Edge though? That looked production to me, and they never sold it as far as I know.

I don't think there were enough knobs on that Line 6 Mustaine for a production unit from them.

Thats a huge chassis for a non power valve amp, isn't it?

I thought Dave mentioned it would be a production amp?

Dave Mustaine – Megadeth: We’re currently developing an amp with Megadeth guitarist and frontman Dave Mustaine. He was looking for a way to make a single amp that could do what his old previous amp-and-effects rig could do. This single amp has four of his favorite sounds, from clean to our insane high-gain sound, plus effects including delays that can spill over from patch to patch. This will all be built into a racked amp head that he can take on tour

                            Hmmmmm.....

He will probably have to use what Dave uses.

He was a Jackson endorser, then he switched to ESP when he joined Megadeh.Actually this was not a bad idea.We all know the freebies problem of Jackson. They just don't give free guitars except for the big names.Well you know it better than me of course

Then Dave made him switch to Dean. And I wasn't expecting that.Because Glen had mentioned that he was working with the ESP guys for his own signature guitar. So I thought that he would stick with ESP ,at least for another 3-4 years.Well,I was wrong.

Any Megadeth member will do ANYTHING Dave tells them to,because they're just hired employees. And if they do something which gets in the way of Dave, they will simply be fired.

And I'm pretty sure that Dave has a line which consists of "you have to switch to any brand that I tell you" in Glen's contract.Poor Glen.
                              I wish my hair-color was EDS :/

Its tough to switch from what your #1 choice is but...Free makes it tough.
