Besides, that's way too practical and makes WAY too much sense. (umm, did i just make another redundant statement? if you look up redundant in the dictionary it says "see redundant").

Nope... I am a thread realist.

If you want another amp that you can't turn up past 1 I would suggest a Soldano SLO 100 used. They start sounding decent at a volume of around 3 which will have the cops at your house in a few minutes unless you live in the woods or the other people in your house are deaf.

You should already know that though if you are playing a DSL100 half stack in your bedroom.

Now.. back to the thread. You asked what BEST to spend your $2200.00 on considering you play 90% of the time in your bedroom and you already have a high powered half stack that barely gets used or appreciated because of the extreme low levels you need to play at when you are a home jammer.

I would suggest a few things:

Roth IRA's are always a good thing
    Mutual funds are good

How about this??? You could spend the money sound proofing your bedroom and buy all the other people in the house ear plugs. If you have any money left you could send a donation to the local police station and maybe they won't ticket you for breaking the local noise codes.

I will never understand the need for high powered tube amps, half and full stacks that are used 90% of the time in the bedroom unless of course the other 10% of the time you are tearing it up at the local rock clubs.

They're telling the absolute truth. Even a tube amp that can be turned down to 5 watts or so is gonna be damned loud when set so it sounds good.

I'll bet that the GT-8 into the DSL power section can do the 80s tones very well. The Vetta does a great job at this too. Lately I've been really curious about the Fractal Audio Axe-FX, which is getting rave reviews for amp models. Even better than the Vetta, apparently. I'm dying to try one, but for now they can't build them as fast as they're selling them.

Me thinks that my attempt at humor failed miserably. I WAS only kidding. But it happens sometimes with chat posts. Text is so sterile. Even emoticans can fail to convey intent.

I was, in effect, agreeing with their statements. I think I stated that it made too much common, practical sense.

For the bedroom all one needs is a modeling preamp-Behringer V-Amp Pro, Boss, Rocktron, whatever, and plug in some decent headphones. But where's the fun in that? Can't piss off the spouse or the neighbors easily with those unless you throw it at them.

Well, the men in their little white suits just arrived. Time to take me back home. I'll be in the corner, chewing on my D string.

I'd buy a used Vetta I and another GMP.

Notice again that i have a 50wt DSL. That helps a bit in the volume
department. Plus im allowing the Boss GT-8 to let the Marshall "breathe"
at 4 1/2 to 5 on the amps volume..(way too loud normally) and then
the GT-8 holds this in check by keeping the overall sound down to what
would normally be 2 on the Marshall.
Great advice guys... maybe i do the Rivera Bonehead, and get that
Power soak (THD Hot plate) and let that Bonehead sing at 8?
Im definately going to get 2... 2X12" celestion cabs...for some
monster stereo, and as you said..."it will be awesome at bedroom levels.
            Thanks again guys!

Not really. 100 watts is not twice as loud as 50 watts. Lower wattage amps will distort quicker, but you'll get more clean headroom with more watts. Even a 1-watt tube amp is damn loud for home use!

There is no difference between a 50w DSL and a 100w DSL when you are playing in your room.
Why stop with 2 x 12's for stereo (its actually dual mono if you are using your Marshall or a Bonehead to power it). My suggestion would be for you to buy 2 of those oversized Mesa 4 x 12 cabs.. and while your at it... get the roadcases for them too. My buddy has a full stack with the road cases. Of course... you will need to get rid of most of your furniture.

A search for Fractal Audio info landed me on this thread.

If you absolutely have to play a high watt tube amp, go looking for an old house with walls made of plaster. That is the absolute best sound proofing you can find. I've played a 100 watter in my upstairs office for awhile now, and my wife says it just doesn't carry. I brought my Fender Champ 600 to play in the living room downstairs, and she said the sound carried right through the ceiling and floorboards, and it was very loud.

Buying an old house in Buffalo was the best thing I ever did for loud amp playing.

I'd get a Vox ToneLab LE and run it through the DSL. Vox has some rather impressive clips of it getting an EVH tone. Click on Audio Downloads and choose the VH78 clip.

I'm also looking forward to hearing the new Valvetronix XL amps, which are supposed to focus more on high gain sounds.

I'm with jg and Joe - if I had $2200 sitting around I'd invest it in something, so in a five years it would be $3000+. Then I'd decide whether or not to spend it or keep saving it.
