For bedroom/don't make the neighbors call 911, I can't understand the aversion to just preamp distortion. I'm sure cranking the power tubes sounds great and all that, but what's really wrong with getting it all from the preamp and controlling the volume with the Master when all you want (read: are allowed to have) is "noodling/practicing" volume?

I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood
