Check out a Marshall 1966B loaded with 75w Celestions.
2 x 12's, portable and enough bottom end to rattle your fillings out.

The Mesa 3/4 back 1 x 12 cab also throws a ton of bass.

John, isn`t that 1966B the same as the 1936 2x12 with the G12T-75`s or? Are they made differently? You have my interest in that one Jack.

        Jack, I believe the 1936 is the JCM900 2 x 12 cab.
I think they are basically the same thing. The 1966B is a fantastic cabinet.

+7 on the G-Flex. I haven't missed anything about my 5150 straight since I ditched it for the G-Flex. But (and this is a huge disclaimer) I don't gig either one, and rarely hit 1/2 volume. So anything I say has to be taken with a grain (pound?) of salt.

And +1 on anything jgcable says.

Isn't the 1966 the one that looks like a smaller 4x12, and the speakers are kiddy-corner form each other?

I had a pair of 1936's - they were good cabs.

              +2 on a Mesa 3/4 Back exept I'd go with a 2X12 (I have 2 of them). I don't feel like I'm missing any bass.

Avatar makes a closed back 2X12 speaker cab that has great "thump" to it.
                  It sounds alot bigger than a 2 X 12 (2 helltone V30's in it)
I used to use it with my 5150 combo and I foolishly sold it.
                  Great cabs.
If this is our perdition, will you walk with me?

                    Great cabs.
thanks for that info, I'm considering a closed back 2x12 and I see these on the Bay all the time but wasn't sure of the quality based on the low-ish pricing.

nice to know they are good performing cabs with the V30's in them.

I will say +9 on the g-flex because I got 2 of them stacked. They are ported cabs and they have great range, hair or thump.

+10 on the GFlex I do not miss my 4x12's at all! When I bought mine last year they were going about 300-350 used on Ebay. A good deal if you ask me.
