The Vetta has a BBE built right into it. Its called Vetta Juice.
There are also a ton of other signal processors in the Vetta to get more clarity.

For a guy who knows nothing about line6 products, you are contributing much to this thread. j/k

      • Update: I took the Flextone II to Guitar Center to see what they would give me in trade against ordering the FBV Floorboard. Their answer? Nothing. "We don't take in older Flextone stuff anymore." Of course, one month ago they had a Flextone II HD head listed at $699.00. They also said that it would take a "week or two" to get it in. Good grief. I can order one online and have it on the porch within three days.

Anyway, it's par for the course. I still like the Flextone and I'll either sell it or just keep it around. I came back home and ordered the long board from American Musical Supply. Just on principal, I wasn't going to give money to Musician's "Fiend" since it's the same company as GC.

And that's BS from GC by the way. I regularly see older L6 stuff there. F 'em!! Sell it on eBay, or at Music Go Round.

          • See if i was you, I would bring the Vetta back to GC and tell them to stick up there A$$. Then order a Vetta and floorboard from one our sponsors like Matt's and he will probaly give you alot better of a price then you can get at GC.

                • You got 30 days from GC, i am sure matt could get you a replacment before that runs out, then you can just bring back the other to GC and tell them to stick it where the sun dont shine.

This will sound absolutely insane, but I've thought about this; return the Vetta combo and get the Vetta HD head off E-Bay, then get another 4x12 to go with my existing one. This way, I could also just keep the Flextone if I wanted to go jam with friends. The long board is already on the way.

I could write a book about the reasons I hate GC. It's always a runaround with them. Even if they had given me, let's say $200.00 for the Flextone, they would have put it on the floor listed at $499.00. If someone had walked in and asked them their best price on it, he would hear, "Uhhh....my manager says he can go $470.00 because that's about what we've got in it, DUDE."

And the more I think about it, the more I think I would like the head better, anyway because I like having the panel facing me instead of having to look down on it. And for running two 4x12's, the HD head would be ideal. I don't gig, but I just want a killer sound at home.

                    • By the way....does GC's return policy apply to used gear, as well?

                      • Yes it does, on anything they sell unless you agree to bypass the 30/30 return policy.

                        • I much prefer heads too, with tube amps there can be microphonic problems, and I have heard with the Vetta combo's there have been issues with the controls moving if it is to loud.

As to GC, you have to understand, they do have to make a living, besides the normal overhead fee's of rent, insurance, lighting, pay the employee's, they also have to pay a franchise fee. So yes they could sell stuff at 5 dollars over cost all day, but at the end of the day they will not stay in business.

Best thing with GC is build a relationship with a sales guy, which is what i do, this way he will give it to me at alot lower price, I know he is still makeing money on it, but i get alot better deals then most people.

Believe me, I totally understand that they have to make a profit to stay in business. I was in car sales for several years (and no, I wasn't a sleazebag) and I understand the difference between wholesale and retail and so on. But here's what chapped my ass; the guy told me straight up, "we aren't taking in any Flextone or Flextone II stuff." Really? Then why, just three weeks earlier, did they have a Flextone II HD head listed for $699.00? And besides, I never told them what I wanted for it. For all they knew, I might have taken $10.00 for the damned thing. I wouldn't have, but you see where I'm coming from. I completely got the impression that they just didn't want to be bothered with me. Don't get me wrong; most of the guys in there are nice and I'm sure they're decent people, but I really hate GC's business model.

So today, I took the Vetta back to Guitar Center for a refund. Why? Several reasons:

                            1. They pissed me off, as usual.

                            2. I've decided to get the Vetta HD head because I want to run two 4x12's (I snagged a Vetta 4x12 off the Bay today) and the combo won't support less than 8 ohns per side in stereo. I'm pretty sure my KMD goes to 4 ohms per side in stereo.

                            3. I think I would like the head better because the controls are facing me as opposed to looking down on them.

So anyway, now that I've had the Vetta over the weekend, it's confirmed that it's what I want.

I didn't bother telling the GC guys that I upgraded the Vetta I to version 2.5. The way they tend to do things, I was afraid they would go, "Whoa! You MODIFIED it?!?! We can't take it back now!"

                            • The saga continues.

Good move, IMO. The head will give you much more flexibility.

Thanks! Yeah, I think so. With the combo, I was looking at having to get another cabinet because I could only run my current 4x12 in "split mono" or whatever. Now it'll be two 4x12's in stereo.
