  • Recommendations on Monitors?

After getting some feed back from some of you suggesting to use a pair of monitors for my GNX1 I thought I would try it out. However I have found myself again in another mess of endless options and prices. I have been using my GNX1 for headphone practice and do not like playing it through my amp. I would like to stay in the $100 to $200 range. I dont know if you need to know this, I use the GNX1 for its distortion/metal models. Any advise will be helpful. About the only thing I have nailed down is that I think I need a active set up speakers, not passive. Thanks again.

Well you can't really expect to get a quality set of active monitors for under $200 ..... They are an investment, just like a guitar or amp.

But these should do .... for what your using it for. Obviously you get what you pay for, but m-Audio makes great products.

Also look at the lower to mid tier Behringer monitors. I know a lot of people give them shit for they're knock off product, but they are pretty good bang for the buck.

Lastly look at local classifieds, ie. craigslist.

I have KRK 8s... got em for a little over $200 used, keep your eyes out. Guitar Center is getting ready for it's big sale, usually they have some sort of powered monitor for sale then.
