I've got one in my SL2H soloist and it's a great fit in that guitar (with the JB/Jazz) combo.
I've got the SH5/59 combo in both of my GMWs and I also like that combination.

I've ordered a set of BareKnuckles for my Carvin 7 string. I have a duncan SH-5 in there now and it's just not 'wowing " me in that guitar. So I decided to go with a (ColdSweat(neck)/NailBomb(Bridge)).
I'll post a full review when they're in
If this is our perdition, will you walk with me?

I have a JB in the bridge of my Les Paul. The mahogany body/neck combination help to warm up the pickup and add to the low-end chunk I wanted from my personal interpretation of Les Paul rock/metal tone while retaining the high-mid cutting definition that the JB seems to favor in most guitars.

I've had a JB in two guitars and pulled it out of one and still can't get used to it in the other.

BTW both guitars were GMW Jake's.

The ones I've had were pretty inconsistent. Overall I like them, but sometimes you get a bad one.

It used to be my favorite pickup, until I've tried the Custom 5. That one is everything I've been looking for in a pickup.

Recently swapped out the bridge pickup in my '92 AR as the original seemed dull and lifeless.

Has taken my guitar to the next level in terms of tone. It should have come with that pickup...

Interestingly the guy who sold me the JB also said i *have* to leave the neck pickup as the muddy sound it produces with high gain is just perfect for those Fade to Black style solo's which i have to agree with.

Not had much experience of other SD's but the JB seemed a decent all-rounder and does what i need it to.

Im still using a 15 year old un-serviced 8080 Valvestate at the moment so it's a welcome boost to the sound!

It's quite sad really - i live 3 minutes from Marshall but i have yet to book it in...i also have a prototype 10inch custom celestion vintage which i want them to sling in it as well....need to make that booking!

I'm really happy with the JBs in my Soloists but like the Custom 5 a little better. The Custom 5 seems to have more "life" in it and is warmer on the bottom end compared to the JB. Still can't go wrong with the JB though as an all around choice.

i tried the custom 5 in a mohag star/maple neck and in an alder/rosewood revolver pro and it was just too scooped for me.

right now i've got a JB in and alder single hum wayne vivian body with a charvel model series neck. i'm getting ready to change the neck over to a one piece maple strathead. but i'm totaly digging the tones.

The JB bridge/59 neck combo has been a go-to setup in LP's for quite awhile. Seems like a great number of people use that combo. I run that combo in all of my LP's right now. In my DK1, I have a custom 5/jazz setup. Sounds pretty good. My DK1 is a fairly dark sounding guitar overall. The Custom 5 is basically a beefier duncan 59. I absolutely LOVE the duncan 59 in my Explorer. With the stock gibson neck pickup, that guitar sounds awesome. BTW, I like using the chrome covers on my Gibson guitars. I think the covers look better than open pickups on LP's and the Explorer.

JB for me too. I have them in 3 guitars. They sound great to me, I don't like active pickups.
I feel festive all year round. Deal with it.
