I guess 2 ohms? That wouldn't be a good thing for that amp.

And as far as I know, you shouldn't be running two cabs off of the PB in mono. The mono mode is for one cab, the stereo mode is for two.

interesting. i would think in mono it'd be more like an old boogie or something with 1 8 and 2 4s in mono. thats what makes me think i could do 2 8s in the 4ohm outs (in mono). but i only use 1 cab as is.

This is a picture of the back of the powerblock. Stole it from ebay.
It says Mono 8 ohms minimum. So you could go 16 ohms too I presume. For stereo, left cab 4 ohms minimum, right cab 4 ohms minimum.

Yeah, but that's where the confusion lies. According to Crate, that's not correct, even though that's what it says on the amp. At least that's what I was told awhile ago when I emailed them.

is anyone running a crate powerblock in MONO through a 16 ohm cab with good results? the recommended minimum impedance is 8 ohms. I figured there is no MAX. In tube amps, I know you have to make sure you meet the MIN impedance requirements. but there is no harm done if you exceed it. Is it the same case with SS amps? Or is my understanding of tube amps flawed to begin with?
