  • Does anyone have clips of the Roland Micro Cube?

As i wrote in another thread, i'm looking for a new practice amp, and the Micro Cube seems to be a great amp, but before i get it, i would really like to hear it, and it's hard to tell how it sounds from just the short demos on the Roland website. So if anyone have some clips they could share, i would really appreciate it.

Thank you, sounds pretty good to me, do you know if this was recorded using the line out or if the amp was miked?

Now if i could also hear some nice leads done with it, it would be great.

+1 - It fits under our coffee table, and I can use headphones with it.

The 2 full stacks in the garage are not quite that convenient.

That was my clip. I recorded it with an sm57 on it. They are great little amps.

Ok, how does it sound lined compared to miked with the sm57? I really like your tone, but i play alot with headphones, so this is pretty important to me.

Just go for the plunge. We're talking a $150 practice amp here, not a new live rack. It sounds pretty damn good with headphones too. Definitly one of the best practice amps you can get today.
You took too much, man. Too much. Too much.

I have never used it direct or with phones. I will try it out tonight and see if I can make some more clips.

Ok, these were real quick. The stack and recto samples were clipping, so I didn't included them.

The Micro sounds great with headphones. Since my main amp has been in for repair for a while now, I've been using the Micro a lot lately to practice with. I have a good set of high end Sennheiser's and it sounds amazingly good.

I've never tried recording the line out though, but a friend of mine has a Micro and has used the line out. He says it sounds good.

It's very easy on batteries too, I must have like 20 hours on a set of alkalines and still going strong. It sounds "good enough" through the speaker for practicing. Actually pretty amazing considering the size. The effects are somewhat limited, but very usable. Overall, for a small practice amp that runs on batteries I don't think anything can touch it. The amp models are very good.
