  • Hey John (jgcable)

Got a question for you or any other guys that might know.

Let's say I'm looking for a particular IC, how do I go about finding one (or a bunch of them)?

    The number on it is

    386D
    JRC
    5005g

Would there be an equivalent, or is this the number to use to find one.

I really don't know where to look.

That's a 386, just look for that. Are you going to build a smokey amp or something?

Hey Pete, I shoulda know you'd have the answer.

Well, first off, you're absolutely right. It's for a Smokey. I tried running a YJM308 through my son's Smokey, and I (ahem) smoked it. I already have the caps on the way, but in case it's the IC, I'd like to find a source for them. Besides, I'd like to build myself one to blow up too.

Thanks John. I did already find some though, for $1 apiece. I'm going to fix the smokey, and I have a bunch of schematics for other low watt amp that I'm going to experimnent with.
