In Need Of An Amp..

hey guys, ive been looking at amps for quite some time now. i use to have a small crate combo but the speaker blew on me. just a few days ago a guitar shop opened locally and they seam to have a descent selection. they have a Peavey Ultra Plus head for $300 and the cab for $100. the cab is pretty beat up but has celestion 30's in it. and the head has just been retubed.

hows that sound to you guys?

The Ultra is a good amp, and assuming the cab is intact enough to withstand the drive home, the price seems fair. New tubes alone make it worth the money.

That is a killer price on the cab. Used v30's generally go for $50+ each

The price on the head is probably average though they are supposed to be good amps
