  • Electro Harmonix LPB 2UBE Stereo Pre-amp

If any of you Digital/Modeling Amp guys out there are looking to add a little tube "warmth" to your rigs, I would highly recommend checking out the LPB 2UBE by E.H. It's a stereo (2 inputs/outputs or mono input to 2 outputs) stompbox type tube pre-amp running running 2 12AX7's at high voltage. Controls are simply 2 volume and 2 gain knobs. No tone controls so it's pretty transparent as far as not coloring your tone. Really brings my sound to life. Adds sustain and makes my guitars very touch sensitive. I use it in front of both a first generation Line 6 and a Johnson JM 60. Not really a distortion pedal, but will add some gain if you crank the gain knob. It's a bit pricey at close to $200.00 but I'm happy I invested in one. You can check out the details at Musician Friend or at the E.H. website.
Anyone else out there have one or tried one? How do/did you like it?
