Looks very interesting, but it doesn't have enough models or effects IMO.

Not a bad price I suppose, compared to what else is out there.

    I still want a Vetta.
Currently at 78 guitars - Paul Reed Smith, Jackson, Robin, Washburn, Carvin, Peavey, U.S. Masters, G&L, Hamer, Godin, BC Rich, Yamaha, Fender, ESP, Kramer, Cort, Ibanez, Aria Pro & Charvel

Am I the only one who realizes that Line6 just invalidated their entire history of claiming to be "as good as tubes"? Also, notice how they did this with the spiders... NOT the Vetta. If this tanks, I bet you'll never hear them mention using tubes again. If it works, then the Vetta III or whatever the replacement is going to be will have tubes up the wazoo.

Basically they took the atomic amp concept and ran with it.

These sort of things ALWAYS sound awsome when presented by the manufacturing company. They didn't say anything I haven't already heard before in the hype-machine. The true test will be when it's in front of us, and plugged in.

I agree and disagree with you Pete. I know, doesn't make sense for me to say that......but look at it this way. There will always be people who swear by tubes and always people who swear by solid state, that's just the way it is. Everyone knows there is a sonic difference between the two and people are on either side of the fence because one does some things better than the other and vice versa. This amp is to be produced for the guys who do like a bit of both but lean more towards the sonic qualities of tubes. Personally, I'm a tube guy.....but for the past couple of months have been playing thru a Spider II 150 watt head, and I gotta tell you, I don't hate it. It does miss that obnoxious piercing mids tone that only a tube amp can give, but other than that it's pretty cool. People who buy amps like the Vetta don't miss that because that's their tonal preference, I didn't go that route because of A.) price and B.) too many bells and whistles. Most tube guys I know feel the same, so the Spider made for the perfect choice to mate with this technology.....kind of a no bullshit straight up approach with just a touch of effects that if you don't use them it's no big deal. At the price, when they hit the stores I'll certainly check em out tho.
Transitioning from Retired Musician from cover bands to a Full time vocalist/frontman/guitarist in an original and covers band....it's been a while and this should get NASTY!

It honestly sounds like marketing bullshit to me. I suspect that it'll be like an enduro bike; marketed as a great street bike combined with a great trail bike, yet it sucks at both. This will be marketed as "tubes meet modeling" and I really don't see it sounding any better than the Vetta.

I pretty much agree with Pete. They've stepped out on a limb but they didn't want to harm the Vetta name, so they went with the Spider. My money says that if this is a failure, it'll also be the end of the Spider series because once the name is tarnished, they'll want to replace it with a new entry-level amp and start with a clean slate.

I cannot see Bogner putting his name on crap because it does his compan an injustice. If anything Id tend to assme if he had no confidence in the product he would have been involved quietly

The Powercab 112 is engineered to deliver superb tonal results with any modeler. A perfect sonic complement to Line 6 Helix® guitar processors, completing the chain—from guitar input to guitar speaker. The Powercab™ 112 is a 1x12 active speaker system that delivers an authentic amp-in-the-room playing experience when paired with any modeler. When set to Flat mode, you simply plug your modeler in and play; Powercab 112 amplifies the sound of your presets as they are, much like a standard FRFR speaker system—but with the response and feel of an actual guitar amplifier. Line 6 PowerCab 112 Active Amp Modeling Speaker System Features Provides an authentic amp-in-the-room playing experience with any modeler Choice of flat response or six classic guitar speaker models 250-watt amplifier delivers up to 125dB Peak SPL 12" custom hybrid coaxial driver 70Hz-20kHz neutral frequency response in Flat mode Curved plywood construction results in a cabinet that is solid yet lightweight  Now imagine having an empty 1x12 speaker cabinet that you can instantly load with any one of six classic speaker types just by pressing a button. Setting the Powercab 112 to Speaker Modeling mode enables you to do just that—virtually—using a new technology developed by Line 6. Simply bypass the speaker cabinet models in your modeler’s signal chain and let Powercab 112 provide the sound and feel of playing through those classic speakers. The Powercab 112 guitar speaker system accomplishes this by combining a clean 250-watt power amplifier with a custom hybrid coaxial speaker. The speaker combines the range, clarity, and power-handling capabilities of a P.A. speaker, with the rapid transient response of a guitar speaker, in just the right measure to function optimally in both Flat and Speaker Modeling modes. And Powercab 112 is loud, producing a room-filling 125dB SPL maximum volume. In addition to sounding and responding like a true guitar cab, the Powercab 112 guitar speaker system also looks like one. Sturdily constructed of plywood, with a unique curved back that adds rigidity and decreases weight, Powercab 112 weighs a gig-friendly 35 pounds (16 kgs). And a flip-out kickstand allows it to be angled toward the performer, whether used in the backline or as a frontline monitor. Designed for Guitarists - Inside and Out The Powercab 112 guitar speaker system for modelers looks, sounds, and responds like a professional guitar amplifier, because that is essentially what it is. In Flat Mode, Powercab 112 delivers a neutral frequency response from 70Hz to 20kHz with plenty of headroom. There is no need to adjust your modeler’s settings—your presets will sound just the way you expect them to. But what most clearly differentiates the Powercab 112 from other products is Speaker Modeling. Speaker Modeling The sound of great amplifiers is due to the speaker as much as from the other components, yet until now no one has modeled an actual speaker driver alone, independently from the cabinet it happens to be loaded into. Line 6 has done just that by creating models of six classic and boutique speakers which drive a custom-designed hybrid coaxial loudspeaker. A lightweight cone and high-temperature 2" voice coil deliver the punch and dynamic response you expect from a guitar speaker, along with the wide range of a P.A. speaker. This design adds unparalleled authenticity to the speaker models, and consequently the sound of your amp modeler, preamp, or even your stompbox amp-simulator. Built For Gigging The Powercab 112 features a highly efficient 250-watt power amplifier capable of producing up to 125dB Peak SPL—enough volume to fill a small club or medium-sized venue. And Powercab 112 is constructed to withstand the rigors of the road, while also being compact and weighing a mere 35 pounds (16 kgs). There’s also an XLR output featuring optimized microphone emulation for direct connection to a P.A., and foldout kickstands facilitate angled backline placement or use as an angled floor monitor.

I agree Kev, Bogner's logo isn't exactly small on either the front or rear of the head.....so he obviously puts his stamp of approval on it. With that price, I really hope I like it. Guess we'll all see in December.

so basically it is just pushing VOX idea a bit futher.
VOX has processors and digital amps where modelled tone is coloured by preamp tube. Line 6 are adding tube power section to it. But basically preamp is still digital
                            Because I don't say it
                            Doesn't mean I ain't thinking it

+1. I think so too. After all they always claimed that their modeling makes tubes obsolete. Now they prove themselve wrong.

Yes i don't think Bogner will put is name on a piece of crap. However all of you expecting the same quality as his normal all-tube amps will probably be disappointed. I mean Bogner won't cut into their own flesh by supplying line6 with a tube section that's just as good as their big $$$ amps.

To me it's just line6 fishing for the tube guys. Will it sound good ? Probably yes, don't know, haven't heard own yet. Will it make the tube guys switch ? I don't think so.
