Sort of exactly what I am planning on buying and contemplating the same question.

At home, you are what, at max, 10 feet from your amp?? A nice 25 ft. Planet waves cable can be bought from eBay for as cheap as $25. Also, I'm guessing there is definitely gonna be a tone-change or tone-loss by using a cheap wireless device. So, all your efforts that went into getting "the perfect tone" will be put to waste by getting a cheap wireless device.

You don't want a VHF system. Sound quality really suffers. There are better units available for a bit more cash. If you really need one, invest another bill or two.
