remember too that if you buy a used cab... OPEN IT UP AND VERIFY WHAT SPEAKERS ARE IN THERE. Sometimes you buy a used cab and some rat bastard came in before you and swapped out the good speakers for some junk, then resold the cab.

I've heard of people taking advantage of a companies return policy by changing poor speakers into a covered cab and giving it back while keeping the better speakers, apparently they won't notice and you get free quality gear. I'd never be able to do this but it shows that you should check what you're picking up.

That's my standard practice, won't even think about buying a cab unless I open it up and know what it has for speakers!
