Boss.......Japan vs.Taiwan?

Anyone notice any differences in quality since Boss moved production from Japan to Taiwan?

There is a difference but not worth the prices they bring. The newer ones can be modded and sound better.

I still have my old HM-2, CS-2 and PH-2 Boss pedals from the mid 80s and all are still going strong. I've only bought a Boss CE-5 Chorus pedal after they moved out of Japan and while the knobs definitely feel cheaper and more plasticized, I haven't had any issues with it. Yet.

i hear there isn't much difference on the SD-1. and that's probably my favorite boss pedal.
